Profhilo
We are always excited when we are one of the first clinics in the North West to offer a new treatment and on seeing these results from a new Hybrid filler the Laserase clinic team were impressed.
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is the latest in Biomodeling and has been called the hydrolift action. Hyaluronic acid is a GAG. A Glycosaminoglycan which has a great water binding ability and plays vital physiological and structural roles in the body.
The plumping nature of the water attracting molecules along with the added advantage of the repair mechanism triggers excellent and lasting results. Profhilo increases the strength and vitality of the skin whilst remodelling the deeper layers to improve elasticity.

Treatment Areas
Profhilo can be used anywhere on the face and body. It is the right choice where skin lacks laxity.
Areas typically include the lower face, neck, hands and backs of arms. Patients often refer to the lax skin as resembling a balloon that has been let down crinkly and thin skin.
- Jowls
- Lower face droop
- Creapy neck
- Sagging skin
- Backs of arms
- Hands

Lasting Effects
The lasting effects are dependent on the individual but after 2-3 treatments expect a 6-12month lasting effect. The treatments are given at 4 week intervals and a continued improvement is seen after each.

How does it work?
Profhilo is the latest in Biomodeling and has been called the hydrolift action. Hyaluronic acid is a GAG. A Glycosaminoglycan which has a great water binding ability and plays vital physiological and structural roles in the body. HA promotes fibroblast proliferation and migration, acts as a free radical scavenger and due to its hydrophilic properties improves hydration and aids nutrient exchange between vessels and the dermis. Lots of dermal fillers contain HA which is naturally occurring in the body. As the skin ages fewer blood vessels result in a reduction in extracellular HA production and the skin sags
Naturally there are different sized cross linked HA compounds in the skin but the problem is that if it is introduced into the skin it is rapidly broken down.
Developing cross linking techniques using different density HA molecules a new hybrid product was discovered which not only acted as an effective filler but it was easy to administer and it caused a natural headlining mechanism within the skin.
The resulting product was PROFHILO®
How often is the treatment needed?
The lasting effects are dependent on the individual but after 2-3 treatments expect a 6-12month lasting effect. The treatments are given at 4 week intervals and a continued improvement is seen after each.
Do I need a consultation?
For all injectable treatments, a detailed consultation is required to check that patients are suitable for treatment and fully understand what to expect from the results.
Treatment Areas
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment takes 20 minutes in the clinic.
Does it hurt?
Profhilo is injected using small needles and because of its formulation, it is easy to inject so relatively painless.
Is there any downtime?
There is potentially a small amount of downtime when the areas injected are red and possibly a little bit swollen.
How to take care of the skin after the treatment?
The skin can be treated gently whilst it is still red and swollen. Keeping away from harsh chemicals on the skin helps as the treatment begins to act. It is advisable to check your regular skincare routine with our staff when you come for a consultation.
