NHS Funded Hair Removal
Hair removal by laser is generally regarded by the NHS as
a cosmetic treatment, for which NHS funding would not
usually be available. However if your unwanted hair is as a
result of a medical condition or if it is adversely
affecting your quality of life, your PCT may pay for you to
have some treatment, but this availability does vary from
one Primary Care Trust to another.
The NHS has a duty to ensure that patients receive treatment
from suitably qualified practitioners and that these
treatments are safe and effective. Many Trusts do not have
facilities to provide hair removal so this treatment is
out-sourced from preferred providers who must meet specific
criteria.
Laserase Bolton is registered with the Care Quality
Commission (previously the Healthcare Commission) and have
demonstrated that we comply with the national minimum
standards used to gauge the safety and effectiveness of
clinics. We have been a regular provider to several local
PCTs for many years and are listed as a preferred provider
for Salford PCT.
